These are words we look forward to after a journey, a day's work, or when we find the place we've been seeking…welcome home. Creating this show helped me form a construct of what I call home after journeying to Hawaii from another place and culture, and blending the two into a new home. The simplicity of sewn out shapes recurring throughout the show and mixtures of colors and fabrics represent the universal feeling we all share in having, needing, and wanting a "home" that welcomes us. In Hawaii, we bring a patchwork of memories from many places around the world that define "home." I invite you to come into our home. It's under construction, and probably always will be. Let's share our stories and celebrate the mixture of the places that have been our home as we embrace the calling of home in Hawaii.
