Grammy Award-winning recording artist Jason Mraz announced plans for a tour of Asia, celebrating the upcoming release of his hugely anticipated new album, "LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD." This includes a performance in Honolulu on July 1st, at the Waikiki Shell.  BAMP PROJECT OFFERS SOCIAL HOUR BEFORE JASON MRAZ CONCERTTO AVOID WAIKIKI ROAD CLOSURE KALAKAUA TO CLOSE SUNDAY, JULY 1ST FOR 4TH OF JULY PARADE HONOLULU, HI – Thursday, June 28, 2012 -- Avoid the road closures and come early to the Waikiki Shell on Sunday, July 1 for the Jason Mraz concert and enjoy social hour, featuring $5 wine and beer from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.  BAMP Project is offering social hour to encourage concert goers to arrive early and beat the traffic jam before the closing of Kalakaua Avenue for the 4th of July Parade. Starting around 5:30 p.m. Kalakaua Avenue will close from Fort DeRussy for the 4th of July parade until 7:00 p.m.  Kalakaua will close down lane by lane with traffic being directed up to Kuhio Avenue.  All traffic moving up Kuhio Avenue will then be directed to Kapahulu Avenue towards the mountain.  **Concert goers traveling this direction can turn right onto Paki Street, then turn right onto Monsarrat where a contra flow will direct them to the Waikiki Shell.** The contra flow will start at 5:15 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m.  Parking lots 1 & 2 next to the Kapi'olani Bandstand will be reserved for the Sunset on the Beach event at Waikiki Beach.  Jason Mraz concert goers are advised to find parking in parking lots 3 & 4, Paki parking lot and street parking. Drivers should anticipate possible traffic delays or use alternate routes.  Follow directed traffic signs and provide a safe distance between themselves and workers directing traffic.
