Live Music With Duncan Osorio

Duncan Kamakanaonakuahiwi Osorio was born on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.  Son of award winning songwriter, and recording artist Jonathan Kamakawiwo`oleOsorio, Duncan was brought up around music at a very early age. Duncan first seriously picked a guitar in the 8th grade, and began composing his own original music shortly there after.

It was in high school at the Kamehameha Schools, a school known for turning out some of Hawaii's top musical talent, that Duncan was able to develop his musical skill. Duncan found refuge in the many hallways and staircases that the school had to offer, often killing free time, and lunch hours strumming away on his guitar. Duncan's love of music was rejuvenated in 2007 when he moved to San Francisco. He immersed himself in the rich musical scene that the SF had to offer.

In 2009 Duncan began work with the Detroit based record label Core808 on a debut album with the group Pure N8ive, and in January of 2010 they released their first single "As close as this." Much of the last few years have spent performing throughout the continental United States from in cities such as Portland, San Francisco, Detroit, and Chicago. With a decades worth of performing under his belt, Duncan now finds himself back where it all began on a rock in the middle of the sea.
