Kailua Independence Day Parade

The Kailua Chamber of Commerce presents:

THE INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
(Formerly known as the 4th of July Parade)

It's back!  The exciting annual Kailua 4th of July parade! Kailua has the only 4th of July Parade on Oahu, and it has a real small town, hometown feel. Because there are no other competing parades, you also get the attention of the governor, congresspeople and a variety of other politicians around the island, as well as the esteemed Royal Hawaiian Band. And, since Kailua is close to Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, you get the Marine Corps Band. It's a great patriotic day in small town Hawaii and a great flavor of the 4th of July in any American burg.

Kailua Fourth of July Parade, from 10 a.m.-noon, organized by the Kailua Chamber of Commerce. Parade travels south along Kainalu Drive from Palapu Street to Kailua Intermediate School. Call 261-7997
