The Beach Boys

BLAISDELL ARENA

FEBRUARY 13th

8PM

Honolulu – As The Beach Boys mark more than 45 years of making music, the group continues to ride the crest of a wave unequalled in America’s musical history.  The Beach Boys have become synonymous with the California lifestyle and have become an American icon to a worldwide audience.  Since lead-singer and rock’s quintessential front man Mike Love penned the lyrics to The Beach Boys’ first hit, “Surfin’” (1961), the band has had a string of chart-topping songs that spans nearly 30 years and includes eternal anthems of American youth:  “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Barbara Ann,” “Good Vibrations,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Rock and Roll Music” and “Kokomo.”

The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have received 32 RIAA Platinum and Gold record awards.  The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history.  The band was honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards, receiving The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy.

Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys, Capitol/EMI's 30-track collection of the band's biggest hits, has achieved massive double-platinum success with sales of more than two million copies in the U.S. since its 2003 release.

On May 22, 2007, EMI/Capitol released the companion and follow-up to Sounds of Summer titled The Warmth Of The Sun. The Warmth Of The Sun is a new collection of 28 career-spanning tracks.  Hand-selected and sequenced by The Beach Boys themselves, the new set includes six classic tracks mixed in stereo for the first time. The Warmth Of The Sun traces the iconic band’s creative arc in a sunup to sundown musical journey that goes beyond the beach, presenting a broad view of the rich musical legacy of America’s band.
