It's 2010 and getting the message out to the world isn't the same as it used to be. For that reason, Tracy Larrua aka Poi Planet, is conducting a series of insightful p.r. and marketing communications workshops throughout Hawaii starting with Getting The Word Out! The hands-on class is meant to re-energize those who may or may not know the traditional and new methods of Getting The Word Out! Whether participants are thinking of starting a side business, a new business, or wanting to grow their current one, the workshop will help to achieve their marketing goals and strengthen their brand.
Fee for Getting The Word Out! is $150. which includes lunch provided by Formaggio. The fee is discounted to $100. for those participants who reserve their seat in advance by Jan. 18th. Class is limited to only 30 participants.
Backgrounder: With more than 27+ years of experience in public relations and marketing communications, Tracy Larrua aka Poi Planet has been described as a jade-of-all-trades and a seasoned pro in the communications field. A local girl who was mentored by some of the best leaders and schooled in both advertising and PR disciplines, she has created successful campaigns for everything from small businesses to large corporations, and everything else in between.
Recently relocated back home to O’ahu after nearly 17 years of growing her career in Los Angeles, California, Tracy now splits time between Hawai’i and L.A. where she consults for a variety of clients looking to promote and publicize their service, product, or brand. Current and past clients include LA INC (The Los Angeles Visitors & Convention Bureau), Route 66 Modern Classics, JK Fine Art, FX-Group, and Tom Moffatt Productions. As a writer, she contributes to a variety of publications including The PRsenal blog for thewhole9.com and Modern Luxury Hawaii Magazine, as well as conducts workshops on 'PR 101' and “Getting The Word Out” in both Hawai’i and L.A.
An alumnus of James B. Castle High School and the Ronald E. Bright Theatre, Tracy has been able to take her experiences in choreography and performing arts and successfully blend it into various promotional projects in Hawaii and L.A. including The Hawaii State Literacy Campaign 'Read To Me,' “Recycle Hawaii Project,” “The Oceanic Keiki Club,” “The University of Hawaii Rainbow Dancers,” Catholic Charities' “Youth-At-Risk Program,” “Arts 4375,” “May Day in LA,” “Meet Me Under The Fig Tree,” “Mods n’ Hogs,” and “Sensory Perception.”
When not working or volunteering, she can be found at the beach in her O’ahu neighborhood, hiking in L.A.’s Runyon Canyon, or at an art, music, or comedy show.
