Beatroot is a producer's showcase where Hawai'i's best beat makers challenge head to head to see who's beats reign supreme.  The producers will be using a variety of equipment including drum machines, MPC's, Playstation Portables, and laptops. There will be six qualifiers leading up to the final battle to see which producer claims the 2009 Beatroot title.

The battle will have three rounds.  First round the producers face off head to head.  Winners advance.  Losers go to a last chance round where the 3 losers will battle for the final spot in the semifinals.  Then round 2 will have finalist go head to head with the winners battling in the final third round.  Winner of the third and final round guarantees their spot in the Beatroot 2009 finals to be held in January.

Qualified so the 2009 Beatroot finals are Ely, T.K.O., DJAH, and Devious
